On Wednesday Jan. 28 Mercy had their annual Heart of Mercy Mass. Every year one student and one staff member gets recognized for exemplifying the Mercy Core Values throughout the year. This year’s winners were Senior Ava Eliya and President Dr. Cheryl Kreger.

“I think the Heart of Mercy winners are very deserving”, Senior Peyton Robinson said. “Ava has been very welcoming to me since my freshman year working with her on Eboard has been a privilege, she’s the kindest person I have ever met. And Dr. Kreger, knowing this is her last year, I am so glad she got to end her time at Mercy on a high note.”

This year’s winners are especially special because it is both their last year here at Mercy as Ava graduates and Dr. Kreger is retiring.

“I think that Dr. Kreger is a great president and is very deserving of her win”, junior Naimah Kellum said, “She always supports the basketball team at games, I will be sad to see her go.”
