Mercy’s varsity basketball team is off to a sizzling start. In their first week of play, the Marlins have racked up two wins, one against Canton, a team they have not beaten in four years. Earlier, in their season opener, the Marlins pummeled Salem, beating them 55 to 32. Two days later, the Marlins took care of unfinished business and won a nail-biter against Canton, avenging previous losses over the past few years.

High scorers were Candice Leatherwood and Sam Bauer with 17 points and 9 points respectively. Many have high hopes for the basketball team this year since they went all the way to Regional Finals last year. Come check out one or more of these games to help relieve some stress before finals or for a fun way to show your Mercy spirit during the Christmas break.
