Mercy’s Tri-M Music Honor Society traveled to Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor on Saturday to attend the Univ. of Michigan Men’s Glee Club concert. Tri-M members met before the concert for dinner at Panera Bread, and then walked to Hill Auditorium.

The concert, titled “Heartland” (conducted by Eugene Rogers), focused on the importance of home. It included traditional choral songs such as “A Stopwatch and an Ordnance Map” by Samuel Barber as well as more humorous arrangements by a small group called The Friars. One of Tri-M’s personal favorites was a version of Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl” that was reworked into a song titled “Buckeye Girl” to poke fun at Ohio State University. After the concert, Tri-M members walked to Bubble Island for some bubble tea.

Tri-M is currently planning its next group trip. In the meantime, its members are busy running Tri-M’s annual Christmas Poinsettia Sale. Poinsettias are $18 and are available in red, white, and pink. Orders are due to Ms. Ferguson by Dec. 2.
