At the last Green club meeting, the members heard a speaker talk about her life and how she stays green. The speaker inspired the girls to stay green and help the school stay green as well by maintaining a green school status.

“She inspired me to be environmentally friendly,” said senior Elena Flores, a Green club leader.

Members of the club responded incredibly well to the woman who spoke about her community in Detroit and their commitment to stay green.

“She told us how they have chickens,” said senior Kristina Lyons. “That’s how they get fresh eggs.”

The Green club is responsible for obtaining Mercy’s emerald school status and working to renew it year by year.
