Swim and Dive Team Crowned Catholic League Champions

The swim and dive team won the Catholic League Championship for the 23rd  consecutive time. The Marlins commanded the meet, winning 10 out of 12 events, including all three relay events.

Senior Erica Allor won the diving portion of the meet with 426.10 points. Mercy took places one through four in the 200 medley, 100 backstroke, and 100 butterfly. Senior Elli Schinella won both the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke. Maddy Loniewski was also a two time champion, winning the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke. Two of Mercy’s relay teams reached All-American status. The 200 medley relay consisting of Alaina Skellett, Hannah Knoop, Ellyse Conn, and Roxy Griffore  finished with a time of 1:46.26. The 400 freestyle relay team of Roxy Griffore, Elli Schinella, Kathleen McGee, Maddy Loniewski also achieved All-American. Freshman Emma Noonan qualified for the state meet in the 100 butterfly.

The next competition for the team is the state championship November 22nd and 23rd.  The team will take 18 girls to the state meet as they compete for the championship. Come out to Oakland University on November 22nd and 23rd to support the Mercy Marlins!
