The Green Club is starting numerous new projects as we ring in the New Year, refreshing the school’s “green” efforts.
“We’re trying to create a website that can tell you different ways to be green,” said junior Kristina Lyons, a Green Club official. “First we need to get it approved, but we’re going to have different sections on it, stuff that’s going on in the green club, activities we’re going to do and easy ways to stay green.”
Aside from the future website, the Green Club is also starting to sell an alternative to wasteful lunch bags.
“We’re planning on making these reusable lunch containers,” said Lyons. “They’re recyclable and you can reuse them.”
The lunch bags will be available at the annual Green Club bake sale, which traditionally is held the week of Earth Day.
