The Mercy Varsity Ice Hockey team was shut out 7-0 by Cranbrook in an intense, physical game on Friday at Cranbrook’s Wallace Arena. Cranbrook scored two goals in the first period, two in the second, and three in the third. Mercy was unable to retaliate, despite a Marlins powerplay with 43 seconds left in the third period and a strong effort by goalie Katy Kouvaris.
Mercy has just three more opponents to face in the regular season — Bloomfield, Detroit Country Day, and Port Huron — before competing in the State Quarter-Finals.
