Mercy’s Varsity Pompon Team competed in the Mid American Pompon State Competition at Michigan State University’s Breslin Center on Saturday February 8th. The pompon team practiced every morning, multiple days after school, and every weekend in order to prepare for their competition.
All of the girls pushed through to their very last performance of the season with all of their hard work paying off as Mercy received seventh place in Class A Division 1 out of 15 teams in that division and 25 teams in class A.
This is the highest score Mercy pom has ever received at States. In 2013, Mercy placed 13th in Class A Division 1. The team jumped six rankings.

Throughout the season the girls performed at Mercy basketball games and received first place in pompon at their Catholic League Competition.
Although the competition season is over for the team, they are still holding their annual clinic on April 5th, which is available to all girls grades K-11. See the attached flyer for more information on the Spring Clinic.
