Mercy’s Human Relations Council organized an inspiring, informative Black History Month assembly, portraying the numerous struggles African Americans have faced throughout U.S. history. Key events in the fight for equality were also highlighted: the Civil Rights movement, the overturn of Plessy v. Ferguson, and the beginning of the Black Lives Matter movement, to name a few.
