Mercy ‘s Quiz Bowl team ended its season in early May with a banquet and awards ceremony held at BD’s Mongolian Grill in Novi. Sophomores Mina Spryszak and Jordyn Kreucher both received awards for their contributions to the Junior Varsity and Novice teams, respectively. All seniors who participated in the club for a minimum of two years were also recognized. Juniors Carmela Sleva and Alana Sullivan received varsity letters for their contributions to the team.

“I felt accomplished, and I was very happy that my teammates were awarded as well,” said Sleva. “This was a great way to end the season and I’m excited for next year.”

In addition to student honors, the entire team recognized Mrs. Katy Koskela for her dedication to the team. Mr. Ken Wolffe, father of 2014 Mercy graduate Emily Wolffe, assisted Mrs. Koskela in all things Quiz Bowl-related throughout the year and was also honored at the banquet.

“It was a wonderful day to celebrate our individual and overall accomplishments,” said Mrs. Koskela.
