Mercy recently hosted the second Quiz Bowl meet of the season, the final one of this semester. Talented teams from Mercy, Thurston, Univ. of Detroit, Shrine, and Detroit Country Day participated in the event. Mercy’s Novice team, JV team, Varsity Maroon, and Varsity Gold teams each played three games. Mercy’s only win was the JV team’s match against Farmington, which ended with a final score of 195-75. When asked about her thoughts on the turnout, JV team member and junior Carmela Sleva had mixed feelings.

“I think we did the best we could. We just made a few silly mistakes,” said Sleva. “It was frustrating to lose [the other games], but it happens, and we can definitely beat them next time.”

The Quiz Bowl season will resume after Christmas break.
