With finals nearing and the semester beginning to end, the Mercy Mock Trial team is currently taking a short vacation so that team members can focus on school work. However, during this short break team members are still expected to dig through witness statements and to prepare their opening and closing statements in order to present in January.
The team will compete in March with a homicide case. This case follows a teenage girl who is being charged with second degree murder for killing her best friend. However, there is a plot twist — there is no body. The nine lawyers-in-training must prepare for rapid-fire debate by knowing the facts of the case inside and out.
Stay tuned for more updates regarding the Mercy Mock Trial team when they head back to court in 2014.
