Christmas festivities were the focus at the last Green Club meeting, where members made snowmen out of peanuts that had been dyed white. These fun crafts aren’t the only thing the members are working on, however.
A beluga whale was adopted by the Green Club, and through a vote was given the name “Chief Gilly.”
“Everyone liked the fact that they could vote on both the animal Mercy adopted and the name for it,” said senior Green Club official Elena Flores.
Flores also mentioned the yearly application for the status of Emerald school, an honor that is even greater than that of Green school.
“It is difficult,” said Flores. “So this year we may ask the whole club to help instead of having only the leaders do all of the activities and requirements we need for the app.”
