Field Hockey season comes to a bittersweet end
Mercy Varsity Field Hockey finished its season with an impressive record of 7-9-2. The team fiercely competed against teams from all across Michigan.
“This team is one I’ll always remember,” said head coach Butch Babler. “I knew from the beginning, we would be facing some stiff competition. But the girls executed each game. I couldn’t be more proud.”
The team gathered together for its banquet on Sunday, Nov. 5.
“It’s bittersweet,” said senior Lauren George. “I’ve grown so much as a player and a person the past four years. I just don’t want it to end.”
It may be the end, but the memories will last a lifetime. Whether it be the pre-game dances, the bus rides, the motivational quotes, or the cheers before each game, the members of the 2016 varsity field hockey team have memories and moments to cherish for life.
