Mercy took on the Ladywood Blazers Sunday in a basketball game for the Catholic League Championship. The Marlins beat Ladywood with a final score of 46 to42. Top scorer was junior Sarah Benson.
Junior Audrey Cords did not let the icy roads keep her away from the game. “It was such an exciting game,” Cords said. “Mercy was done for most of the [game] but they pulled it together during the fourth quarter and won. It was the best I’ve ever seen them play!”
This is Mercy’s first Catholic League title since 1983. Congratulations girls!
