Today the Mercy Varsity ski team will compete in the Catholic League tournament at Mt. Brighton starting at 9 AM They will compete against several other teams from southern Michigan in a series of downhill races.
The outcome looks good for Mercy, whose skiers have continued to execute fast times throughout their previous meets.
“So far, I think the season has gone very well,” said senior Meghan Ronayne. “I think we have the potential to make it to states.”
At Catholic Leagues, the girls will get two runs each—one run down a slalom course where the gates are close together, and one run down a giant slalom course where the gates are further apart. The times of the two runs will then be combined for a total time which will be compared against the times of competitors.
