Every year, February brings snow days, cupid’s arrows, and of course Father Daughter Dances. Although it did not take place last year, Mercy’s annual Father Daughter Dance is back on track. Mercy girls of all ages (alumnae included) brought their dads along for a Winter Wonderland-themed night with sing, dance, snowflake designs, snowball fights, and award shows.

The junior class officers put on a fun award show performance for all the dance attendees to enjoy. The contestants competed with their dates to see how well they knew each other. Each father and daughter pair was asked two questions (one about the dad, one about the daughter) and they were both asked to write their answers down on a separate white board. If their answers matched, they won a point! They were also asked a handful of random trivia questions; each correct answer also worth one point.

The Father Daughter Dance also brings the annual essay contest where students are invited to write an essay about their dads and enter it into the competition. This year’s winner was senior Caitlin Parsons.
