Sharing another perspective can be priceless. This is exactly what Mercy BPA considered in order to inspire the members and further prepare the team for future success.
Tiffany Ellis, a Michigan attorney dedicated to handling complex legal matters for consumers, businesses, and government entities, was recently invited to speak to the Mercy BPA team about her business world experiences.
The engagement provided the team with the opportunity to learn from a business expert in the community, while allowed Ms. Ellis to contribute to the education of Mercy students.
“She gave us information on her life and talked to us about what made her successful,” said sophomore Tomoe Miyazaki, secretary of Mercy BPA.
The presentation was extremely helpful because Ms. Ellis talked about how she went through difficult times and overcame challenges, added Miyazaki.
Ellis’ attention grabbing advice was to be open-minded about opportunities in life and to take part in the benefits that come from embracing new ideas.
“[Ellis] told us to be open to anything because there are a lot of things out there that [we] might not even know,” added Miyazaki.
Another key advice was just to be yourself.
You cannot deny yourself and be successful that way, Ellis told the Mercy BPA team.
The highly motivated Mercy BPA team is now committed to bringing in more guest speakers. The team wants to do more than just prepare for, and attend, regional and state conferences. They want to learn from the community experts and make the club more enjoyable.
