This year has certainly been a busy, time consuming year for the Mercy Mock Trial Team. With practice twice a week, from 6-8:30 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, along with an overwhelming amount of snow days, the Mercy Mock Trial Team has been hard at work. Although the season is over, the team is already anxious to head back into the courtroom and argue their way to states.
Despite the fact that the team did not place in this year’s competition they still brought their A-game and most definitely put up a fight in court. The competition begins at 8:30 and is typically not over until around 4:30. Each team rotates playing the Defense and Plaintiff for the case and competes in three different rounds. Despite the loss, the team is even more motivated to place at next year’s competition.
Unfortunately, the team will be losing three of their senior members, meaning that there will be more spots open on the team next year. However, this is only a minor setback for the team considering the amount of time and effort they put into preparing for their competition each year.
