The Mercy varsity soccer team is ready to take on the upcoming 2013 season. To prepare, a majority of the girls are starting to get in shape. For all those looking to participate in the upcoming spring season, conditioning will be held in the weight room every Tuesday and Thursday for the next few weeks.
“It’s not much running,” said senior captain Katie Coerdt. “We’re trying to focus more on rebuilding the muscles lost during the off season.”
More serious conditioning will begin in the weeks before tryouts. Coach Bickes, husband of Spanish teacher Sra. Bickes, will lead the team in intense workouts and sprints, all in hopes of preparing the girls for a successful season.
Soccer tryouts begin March 11th.
