Achieving the status of Miss Volleyball of 2011 had been a dream of senior Madeline Doyle. This year, that dream came true.
“When I discovered I won Miss Volleyball I was ecstatic,” Doyle said. She also stated that after winning she felt “accomplished and special”.
“It was one of the happiest moments of my life,” she said.
Doyle received the acknowledgement was recognized by her teammates, classmates, family and whole school in mid-November at an assembly secretly arranged to specifically recognize her new title.
Cameras flashed as reporters from the Detroit Free Press documented the momentous occasion for one of mercy’s best players and students. All of Mercy High cheered on Doyle as she accepted her title. Doyle addressed the school and guests saying that she could not have done it without all the support she was given.
“I think my parents have been most instrumental in helping me achieve this goal of receiving Miss Volleyball,” she said. “They have always been extremely supportive.”
