Whether you love or hate her, a majority of people seem to agree that Madonna’s Halftime show at the Bridgestone Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday, February 5 was certainly an extravagant spectacle to behold.
The 53-year-old pop icon sang some of her biggest hits: “Vogue,” “Music,” “Give Me All Your Luvin’,” and “Like a Prayer”. And was joined by some of hip-hops biggest artists, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A., LMFAO, and Cee Lo Green.
An erected 30 yard stage showed an impressive array of light effects and images of classic actors in black and white and a concluding message of world peace.
It began with an awe-worthy performance of Madonna dressed as Cleopatra and surrounded by Roman dancers during “Vogue”, then transitioned to the song “Music” with an LMFAO accompaniment, before moving to Madonna’s new, ridiculously young single “Give Me All Your Luvin’,” with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Next, Cee Lo Green came out with Madonna for the songs “Open Your Heart” and “Express Yourself,” followed by the ever classic “Like A Prayer”.
The Best: The Cirque de Soleil style acrobatics
The Worst: Madonna’s obvious lip singing
