Sunday, February 27th, 2011 marked the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony. According to ABC, over 40 million viewers tuned in to watch Anne Hathaway and James Franco host one of the biggest nights in Hollywood.
Perhaps one of the most prized awards given out is Best Actor/Actress in a Leading Role. This year, Colin Firth won the award for his performance in The King’s Speech, and Natalie Portman was awarded an Oscar statue for her portrayal in Black Swan. The King’s Speech, directed by Tom Hooper, swept the Oscars by winning four awards, including Best Picture.
