San Francisco based indie rock band, The Dodos, are well known for using an experimental, instrumental approach that leaves their songs both disarmingly clever and astoundingly beautiful. Through the use of xylophones, toy pianos, and drum sets without the bass, Meric Long, Joe Haener and Logan Kroeber create a sound that is not only unique, but that also retains the charm of their early collaborations despite their evolution over the past decade.
With four albums released in the span of five years, from 2006 to 2011, The Dodos show no sign of burning out anytime soon. Their second album, Visiter, is truly a gem and is definitely worth checking out.
