Charlie Sheen has been putting on quite a show over the last few weeks and in no way does that refer to his role as Charlie Harper in “Two and a Half Men.” Similar to his character, Sheen has revealed himself to be more than just an excessive partier–he is a womanizing, mentally dysfunctional, drug addicted, alcoholic narcissist who is probably about to die.

Hollywood has seen this happen before, most recently in the death of Michael Jackson. The 50 year-old’s heart attack was more than sad, it was self-induced and completely preventable. The difference between Sheen and Jackson is the events that took place before their demise. (In Sheen’s case, no one is quite sure what will happen, but it is expected to turn out badly).

Jackson’s drug abuse of prescribed sedatives, propofol and lidocaine, for alleged “insomnia” was kept a private matter until it was revealed to be the cause of his death. Throughout the latter part of his life, Jackson had been the center of much speculation and controversy and because of this lost a lot of fans and respect.

Charlie Sheen, on the other hand, has been very open about his drug use, partying, and personal opinions. The comments he made about his boss cost him his job as the highest paid sitcom actor in history. After overdosing on cocaine, he spent a week and a half in rehab, claiming he was ready to return to his “normal” life.

This manic behavior caused interviewers to question his mental stability. When being asked about the possibility of having bipolar disorder Sheen quickly denied it and stated he was actually “bi-winning.”

The saddest thing about Sheen’s overexposure is how his family and friends have left him for dead. Not one person has stepped up to try and save this man from the path he is on, and everyone knows where he is headed.

And if and when that happens the industry, his family, Hollywood, and his “fans” will mourn the tragedy and find a way to make money off of it (Michael Jackson’s “This is It” movie comes to mind).

Really, if no one will help this man, everyone needs to stop paying him any attention and hope he comes to realize that he is killing himself with this lifestyle. The hypocrisy is that our nation thrives on drama, especially in reality. Charlie Sheen has been instigated into putting on a show (literally, he is going on tour) and will continue his illicit and illegal antics until he kills himself. And only then will people wish they had helped.
