Mercy Varsity Pompon (MVP) performed at their Regional competition on January 18 at Northville High School. MVP is in Class A, along with various public and private schools across the state. Mercy scored above 80% on their routine and qualified into Division 1 for their State competition.
Each performance is between two minutes and three and a half minutes long. The routines consist of a kick line, “wow” moves (stunts), and various eight counts. Teams are being judged on multiple categories: appearance, form, execution, skill Level, ability, talent, formations, transitions, skill of kick line, choreography, use of pompons, team unity, precision, rhythm, timing, showmanship, overall impression, and mistakes.
Be sure to come out and support the Pompon team at their State competition on Feb. 8 at Michigan State University.
