Mercy’s forensics team competed at the Grand National Tournament in Philadelphia, competing against thousands of students from all over the country. While 17 girls competed in every category, one student, Sarah Kmiecik, broke into the octo-finals, or the top 48, of her Oral Interpretation category. Out of hundreds of students, she competed and won a beautiful ribbon commemorating her achievement.
“It was very exciting,” said junior Kelsey Ellis, who also competed in the Extemporaneous speaking category, especially since it’s the first time in years anyone has ever broken from Mercy.”
Forensics closed its season on a good note, and looks forward to next season with high hopes.
