The Mercy Track and Field team is enjoying a very successful season. On the track, distance runners, sprinters, and hurdlers alike are dominating their competition at various meets. Off the track, field events such as discuss and long jump are just as strong.
The 4X800 meter relay team, consisting of senior Heather Smith, sophomore Teagan Dillon, and freshwomen Allysen Eads and Katelyn Toloff, qualified for the States meet last week at the Catholic Leagues meet. They will be running for the States meet in June.
Freshwoman Maya Roberts received a medal in the 100m hurdles at Catholic Leagues.
On the field, senior Elizabeth Jenkins qualified for the Oakland County meet for her outstanding throw in discus. Junior Chloe Henderson received a bronze medal at Catholic Leagues for discus.
