This past week, the Latin program put on their annual fundraiser, Salmagundi, to raise money for the Latin program and the Latin language honors society, the Junior Classical League (JCL).
Students had the opportunity to purchase homemade treats, slime, stickers, and crafts from Salmagundi. All products were made by members of JCL for other students to enjoy.
The money made from the Salmagundi sale enables the Latin program to go on fun and educational field trips outside of the Latin classroom, giving them a chance to broaden their Latin education and opportunities.
“Salmagundi is beneficial for the Latin program because it helps us raise money to put towards school buses for field trips and help have funds to go more places,” senior JCL officer Katie Schwab said.
Salmagundi is a good occasion for other students to support the learning of the Latin language and is a highly anticipated, fun event for members of JCL each year.
“By doing Salmagundi we get to get the student body hype and engage with students outside of Latin and outside of our grades,” senior JCL officer Jaylen Pecora said.
