Mercy basketball has done it again! With a second win against the Ladywood Blazers, the Mercy varsity basketball team is looking to a great season. Tuesday’s game was constantly going back and forth in the first half, but with strategic plays and touch physical contact, the Mercy team ended up victorious.
“I was nervous at halftime,” said Varsity captain Sarah Benson. “Ladywood played well, but I know we could pull it off.”
Even though there was a big turnout of Ladywood students, Mercy parents kept the team’s spirit alive with cheers. There was never a dull moment in the gym.
“At the beginning of the game, there were no people cheering for Mercy,” said senior Susan Panetta. “But when the parents realized that we needed to fight back, they were screaming pretty loud.”
Between the screaming fans and intense plays, the basketball team was under pressure. However, they were able to produce another successful win. Catch another exciting game at Mercy this Friday versus Marian at 7:30 p.m.
