Imagine Halloween without the candy! Would the holiday be the same without the treats?
According to the National Confectioner’s Association (yes, there is such a thing), the average American will spend $7.36 on Halloween candy this year, and while that may not seem like a lot, that adds up. The U.S. will consume $2.3 billion in candy this Halloween. That’s a lot of sweets!
The most popular candies this season are Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, followed by Snickers according to a survey by ExtremeChocolate.com. And we of course, can’t forget about candy corn. Thirty-five million pounds of candy corn were produced for this season alone.
What kind of candy will you be eating tonight? Reese’s? Snickers? Candy Corn?Or something else? Whatever you choose, the Newsprint staff hopes you have a safe and happy Halloween!
