In an emotional nail-biting evening, the Mercy Varsity Volleyball team kept their undefeated streak after last night’s match against their biggest rival, the Marian Mustangs. After Marian stole the first two games, Mercy came back with ferocity, smashing Marian to the ground in the next two games. In the fifth game, the record-breaking student section was on its feet in anticipation. They jumped back in shock when senior captain Lindsey Lerg fell, injured, near the end of the last game, and stormed the court when senior Maddy Doyle slammed the winning point down on the Mustangs. The two teams hope to face each other again in Catholic League Finals on October 24th, a match that promises to be just as exciting as the last.
