The TV show Community focuses on a study group put together by Jeff Winger (Joel McHale of The Soup), whose original intent was to get on “friendly” terms with his female classmate named Britta. The study group that was formed includes shy Annie, former high school football star Troy, television-centric Abed, mother-like figure Shirley, and one of Greendale Community College’s older students, Pierce (played by Chevy Chase). Ken Jeong (of The Hangover) also makes regular appearances. The study group runs into eccentric teachers and school shenanigans, and soon their personal lives interlock with those of the other Greendale Humans — the community college’s least possibly offensive attempt at a mascot. There are romances and personal highs for each person in the study group, and every flows with meta and pop culture references. The new season airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
