On Wednesday, our school community came together for a very special annual celebration — Grandparents Mass.

It was a beautiful opportunity to honor the grandparents who fill our lives with love, wisdom, and faith. The church was filled with joy as students and their grandparents prayed, sang, and gave thanks to God for the gift of family. Throughout the Mass, students reflected on the many ways their grandparents inspire them in faith and life. Some shared memories of going to church together, praying, or celebrating holy days as a family. Others spoke about lessons of patience, kindness, and forgiveness they have learned from their grandparents’ example. These reflections reminded us that grandparents play a powerful role in helping us grow closer to God.
“My grandparents are very faithful and they always go to mass and they have taught me how to pray,” Senior Alexa Dueweke said.
After Mass, grandparents were invited to tour the school and enjoy refreshments with their grandchildren. Laughter, smiles, and storytelling filled the halls as families created new memories together. It was clear that the day was as meaningful to the grandparents as it was to the students.
“It feels really sad to know that it was my last grandparents’ mass at school. They have been coming to school mass with me since I was in kindergarten,” Dueweke said.
