Noel Night Brings Good Tidings to Midtown Detroit

Although Noel Night has been going strong for 39 years, this year it had the largest number of venues and the biggest crowed ever. Many activities and performances took place in Midtown Detroit on December 3. Dancers and singers gathered in the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American history, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Public Library’s Main Branch, and 57 other venues. Junior Jeneva Wheeler danced at the Detroit Public Library and enjoyed the rest of her night during the event. Many Mercy girls attended Noel Night and have ever since middle school. The Salvation Army graciously offered free hot chocolate to all who desired a cup. To close the night, the Salvation Army Band held a community sing-along on Woodward Avenue.
