Selena Gomez’s fans were ecstatic when the star dropped two new singles last week—the first solo music she has released in nearly four years.

In her first track, “Lose You to Love Me,” Gomez describes her perspective after a difficult break up, along with her intimate thoughts. Fans speculate the song is about pop singer Justin Bieber as many of the lyrics correlate to events that occurred in their on and off relationship from 2011 to 2018.

For example, fans believe the lyrics “In two months, you replaced us like it was easy,” refer to Bieber’s swift rebound, Hailey Baldwin, who he began dating in June of 2018 after he and Gomez called it quits in March of the same year.

“Look At Her Now,” the star’s second single, reveals that she has moved on and has grown from the heartbreak.

“[The song] is acknowledging that you mess up and you go through your stuff, but you can always come out of it just feeling like… a boss,” Gomez said in an interview with SiriusXM. She said that this song is intended for her fans. “I wanted them to know that I was okay,” said Gomez.

Although it is always exciting when Gomez releases new music, fans are more happy to hear she is doing well after her recent health struggles. The singer was diagnosed with Lupus, an incurable autoimmune disease, which required extensive chemotherapy treatment. Additionally, Gomez also received a kidney transplant in 2017 after she was rushed to the hospital with kidney failure.

Gomez revealed that she will be releasing the full album soon and fans cannot wait for what’s to come. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Gomez teased that she has “saved the best [songs] for later”, which has fans on the edge of their seats to see what the star has up her sleeve.
