With a kickoff to Spirit Week honoring the Olympics and an exciting opening ceremony held in the gym, Mercy TV has been aired throughout the halls and students are giving Spirit Week a five-star review.

“I was so excited when I found out the (Spirit Week) theme,” said sophomore Alexis Dickie. “I thought it was such a cute idea.”

An avid Grey’s Anatomy fan, Dickie, was most excited for Wednesday, “Netflix or Chill Day”, because she is dressing as her favorite character from the show, Christina Yang.

“Christina Yang is my favorite because she is a very great person and a talented surgeon,” said Dickie, who is re-watching Grey’s Anatomy for the second time.

Not only was Dickie enthusiastic about Mercy’s TV-themed Spirit Week, but she was also ready to pop a bowl of popcorn and relax as ABC’s TGIT — Thank God It’s Thursday — returned with the Season 13 premiere of Grey’s Anatomy on Sept. 22.

“I plan my whole week around Thursday,” said Dickie. “I get all of my homework done so that I can watch my shows.”

Many other popular TV shows are also back — such as American Horror Story, Dancing with the Stars, New Girl, and Once Upon A Time.

Senior Ann Nelson is most looking forward to Season 6 of American Horror Story: Roanoke.

“I am excited to see how it will be intertwined with Season 1, ‘Murder House,’ because Season 1 referenced Roanoke, and I think it will connect the theme,” said Nelson.
